Our technicians and managers all vote at the end of the quarter on who the “Employee of the Quarter” was.  Employee of the Quarter votes are based on many factors.  Some of those factors are: willingness to work after-hours, attitude, quality of work, teamwork, people skills, desire to learn new things, documentation, taking on new responsibilities, etc.  First Quarter 2010′s winner was: Ryan Morgan.  Ryan is a team leader for emergency services and also has many carpentry-type skills utilized by our reconstruction division.  Ryan has a wife, Kelly, daughter, Malia, and dog, Simba.  In his spare time Ryan likes to play the bass guitar and do woodworking.  Congrats Ryan!  Stay tuned to find out who Second Quarter’s winner will be…

At First Restoration Services we strive to have a winning attitude. We strive to have a Win-Win experience in all we do. We also understand that a Win-Win does not always happen. The big issue when you are not in a Win-Win situation, is to come out of it with something learned. Which in my eyes turns it into a Win-Loose-Win situation

We are in the middle of a pretty good size cleaning contents job from a fire loss. The cleaning process for contents is a very detailed process. All of the contents  need to be addressed individually to get them cleaned properly. Then they are placed into a ozone room to eliminate any odor lingering around after the cleaning process. We are able to salvage the vast majority of the contents but sometimes there are some non-salvageable contents. The majority of the contents are returned to the pre-conditioned stage before the loss occurred.

Wow what a busy week we have had. Our consultants (Business Mentors) are on their quarterly visit. Our staff always has questions for me before they come and I always tell them to be themselves. It always amazes me what an outside influence can see and develop within your company. We value the insight and overall knowledge of the business our consulting firm brings to the table.

Did you know most middle school and high school football teams just hang up their shoulder pads for storage at the end of the season then pass them straight on to the new player next season?  First Restoration is branching out!  Our Esporta Wash System allows us to sanitize (and deodorize) soft contents that have been affected by water, sewage, smoke, or mold.  In addition, we can use our Esporta Wash System to sanitize football equipment.  Don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like more information for your child’s football coach about how to really protect their players’ health.

You never know when a fire is going to happen. First Restoration Services has six fire losses that we are handling at this very moment. All of these losses have happened since the beginning of 2010. The causes were anything from a dryer vent to a gas grill. So make sure to keep an eye on things.

Today, we have signed up another fire loss. This year, we have had an increase in fire losses and it seems like we just go from one to the next. Our rapidly growing cleaning department has been a great asset for these losses. The cleaning department not only goes in and takes care of any structural cleaning in the home, but they also take care of cleaning any soft goods that are damaged. In homes with significant smoke and fire damage, all soft goods are at least affected by the odor of smoke and need to be cleaned back to their previous condition (or sometimes better!).
