Most people don’t know Martin King. But if you mention that name around a group of seasoned restoration professionals (and I’m not talking franchise owners, they don’t have a clue) everyone turns an ear to hear what the conversation is all about.
Marty King is a pioneer in the restoration industry. He is responsible for training, mentoring and caring for more individuals in the restoration industry than any other man I know. Marty took a class of 20-25 average men and woman that were in the profession and within one week instilled not only top notch knowledge but most of all passion for the knowledge and the industry.
Marty has retired and in his wake he has designated more Certified Restorers (CR’s)that are the leaders in the industry and have passed on their passion to countless numbers below them. I am glad to have been one of those students that spent those intense 5 days in class and the 8 hour test at the end and lets not forget the thesis due before I was awarded my designation.
It enhanced my restoration experience and made me the restoration professional I strive to be today.
Thanks Martin King, you can be proud of your accomplishments.
I received a flu shot today. If you didn’t receive flu shot don’t forget to wash your hand on a regular basis and cover your mouth before you cough when you get the flu.

This past weekend we hosted the MSPCA here in Asheville. Companies from NC SC VA GA came to hear David Kilpatrick speak on engaging our employees. He came to us from CTC Group ( Consulting Training and Coaching ). We also heard from Mike Sowinski from CFO Consultants. Mike gave a two hour presentation on How to Buy and Sell a Business.
Friday evening the group toured our contents cleaning facility, then we all went out to dinner.
I say all that to say this. You need to be connected to your peers. You can learn so much from networking with fellow owners of companies like your own. The information is valuable and real time.
