During a fire, smoke can permeate walls and other surfaces and drift through household ducts, where it becomes trapped. If not properly removed, smoke odor reoccurs from time to time, especially during warm or damp weather.

For structure cleaning First Restoration Services may use a number of processes depending on the severity of the damage. Processes may include:

  • Thermal Fogging – This wet chemical fog that penetrates your home and walls just as the fire did, neutralizing the smoke odor as it goes.
  • Dry Ice Blasting – This is a form of abrasive blasting, where dry ice, the solid form of carbon dioxide, is accelerated in a pressurized air stream and directed at a surface in order to clean it. Same principle as sand blasting – less cleanup
  • Dry Sponging – Removes stubborn marks from drywall and wallpaper without chemicals or abrasives.
  • Wall Wash – Cleaning soot stains from walls using chemical cleaning agents.

We practice source removal, not masking with fragrance.
